Will you be able to help me with my problem?
We may be able to help you to improve your lifestyle if you have a neurological condition. Your brain is as individual as you are and it will not respond exactly like someone else’s. Generally, two scans along with regular scheduled appointments will provide enough data to enable us to determine whether the approach taken by Inspired Health may be of benefit to you.
Does the qEEG hurt?
The qEEG is painless and non-invasive. We will place an elastic cap on your head which has electrodes attached to it. Another electrode is attached gently to each ear. The qEEG is measured while you sit still with your eyes shut for a few minutes and again for another few minutes with your eyes open. The machine measures your brainwaves through the electrodes and creates a report about your brain function.
Can the qEEG be done on children?
Yes. The qEEG has been used with babies as young as 3 months old. If your child is young, he/she can have the 10 minutes of qEEG done whilst he is watching a favourite DVD or iPad. Children are not be required to have the qEEG done with eyes closed. Including set-up time, the whole procedure can be completed in approximately 15 to 40 minutes.
Does Dr Randy Beck look at my scan?
Yes, Dr Randy Beck looks at and interprets all scans and oversees the development of treatment plans in consultation with our team of clinicians. Treatment plans are developed individually for each patient based on the results of the exam and qEEG.
How long do the sessions take?
The initial assessment session takes approximately 1 hour. The treatment sessions take about 20 – 40 minutes. Sessions are not priced on time taken. Even if sessions take longer, session prices remain the same.
How long will the treatment take to complete?
The length of the treatment varies from individual to individual. It depends on factors such as the type of problem that you are presenting with and how quickly your brain responds. After your initial course of intensive treatment, you will have another qEEG to see how you have responded to the treatment. An appointment will be made to discuss your results with you. Based on the results we may be able to advise you more clearly about timeframes.
Will the effects last?
Once the changes have become consolidated, they usually hold over time. However, growth spurts, with the corresponding surge of hormones or accidental blows to the head may cause a relapse. This can be improved with extra sessions for a period of time. Some patients may experience increases or decreases in energy after therapy.
Can I continue with other therapies while I am participating in the program?
Most therapies can continue concurrently, as long as they involve both sides of the body.
How often do I need to go to the clinic for sessions?
During our intensive programs we recommend a treatment schedule of 2 times a day for the full length of the intensive treatment cycle. These appointments will be spaced out by around 60mins.
